Default 4:56 or 4:88's

I'm having a hard time deciding between the 4:56 and 4:8
8's.08 JKU with a 6 speed will be running 35's, about 90% on-road and the rest off-road. I can't afford to do this twice so I need to get it right the first time. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

are you satisfied with your 35's or is there a chance of going to 37's in the future? You will be fine with either. Also depends on your driving. Highway? City? Id prob go with the 4.88 either way. They will be better in town and they are still fine on the highway.

35"s with 4.56's will give you approx. the same RPM as stock. 35"s with 4.88's is a few hundred more RPM's. You'll get better pick up with the 4.88's but your top speed will be less than the 4.56's

Yea, 35's will be as big as I will ever need. Highway and city driving.

Do you want to perform the same as stock or better? If you want better go with 4.88 as long as you dont mind running a little bit higher RPMS on the highway.

X2. 35's are much heavier than stock so you'll need more gear.

Agree with SG. For an '08, get the 4.88's. Plus, the 4.56's can sometimes be a PITA to find, and can even be more expensive (kinda piddly, but still...)

I went with the 4.88's in my 6 Speed w/35's a few months ago. Feels much more powerful now but my mpg has gotten worse. At 70mph I'm at 3000rpm and getting 14mpg. Worth it? YES! And that's with the tunertoo btw. If you want lower rpm's and better mpg go with 4.56's though.

I went with 4.56s. Same price as 4.88s when I got em. They are scarcer though.

It is one helluva improvemt over stock and I'm getting around 17 mpg.

The only thing that I do wonder is if u could skip first and start in 2nd off the line with 4.88s? With 4.56s u gotta be slightly rolling otherwise lots of pep.
