Default 4" to a 6" lift????

Okay, so I guess I underestimated myself when I first outfitted by jeep with a 4" lift. My installer told me going with a long arm kit (over 4") would not drive on the road like a 4" kit. Something about clicking or knocking or something like that. Now I have the extra cash and want to move to a 5.5" or 6" lift and 40" tires when I need to move to new tires in a few months

Who has a 6" kit out there and are there any suggestions? Which manufacturer?

Also, do I really have to upgrade to a D44 in front or will the Evo sleeves and gussets be enough for running 40's on 20's? I don't do too much off roading/crawling, but I don't want broken parts if i do go out and play a little....

Any thoughts would be great....thanks guys....

Dave

I would suggest the 6" long arm for 40's. We have a awesome complete bolt on long arm system. That's built in the USA.

Check my profile pics for photos of my long arm in action.

40s on a D30 is really asking for trouble if you go on any trails. If you keep it on the pavement you sould be ok though.

Yeah, actually you guys were the one I was looking at....the guy that lives next to me has a TJ 2 door with one of your lifts on it and he beats the $h!t out of it.

Does it really ride "better" than stock though? What about the clicking my installer was talking about. He's a jeep freak....he has two and they both have major suspension mods (stretched, lifted, wider axles and diffs). My jeep is a daily driver - i've had it for less than two months and have over 6500 miles on it. I freakin love the thing and wish I started with a larger kit but now i know i need the most i can get out of my suspension down the road.....

thanks for your response.....

If you dont do much trail riding the D44 should be ok just look for a used one. If you are going on rocks and trails the D44 front will be on the small size for 40s. You can get away with the stock rear D44 on 40s.

It definitely will ride better than stock, especially on a 6" lift. I'm not sure which lift your installer is talking about but, our old generation disconnects would click. The new ones are silent.

If you want to talk over the lift on the phone send me a pm or any other questions please ask

I have a 6" Teraflex Long Arm on mine with 39" tires. I can say without a doubt it rides better than stock. There is zero clicking or any other noise for that matter. Just a sweet smooth ride. I kept my Stock Rubi axles- sleeved them & gusseted them with EVO stuff.

I can't speak to which lift manufacture is better or worse, I went with Teraflex based upon a lot of recommendations and feedback, the other lift that I gave hard look at was RockCrawler.
