You'll need to provide more info, like tranny?? type of driving, etc.

I understand 3.21's have a different carrier than the 3.73's or 4.10's. If so, you will need to upgrade carrier only if you have 3.21's.

From my experience and what I've read, you shouldn't need a new carrier in the rear, but you may or may not need one for the front. Seems Jeep changed carriers at some time, and it doesn't seem to be related to gear ratio (i.e. carrier breaks).

I needed a new carrier for my 3.21 geared D30. Some w/ 3.21's didn't. Go figure.

Not the case, the differential carrier (holds the spider gears). This gives you good excuse to drop a locker or LS carrier in the axle!
