4.88s with 35s
Will 4.88 gearing with 35" tires put you back in the same gas mileage range as 4.10 with 32s, or will the extra height, weight and general liftness be too much to overcome to expect that?
well, that's what i had done anyway and LOVED the extra umph that i got. now that i'm running 37's, i feel like i got my stock performance back and am a little bummed.
I thought as much; I wasn't kidding myself, I didn't know, that's why I asked...that's why I worded the message the way I did...thanks for the quick response. One can only dream...
So basically you have to choose whether you want performance or mileage.

yeah, i hear ya and yes, 4.88's will keep you closer to stock performance and mpg. but, i'll tell ya, the performance gains you will get with 5.13's is nice. with my 6-speed, i felt like i had 30 extra hp's. in an auto it won't feel as drastic but still nice just the same. oh, and make sure that you recalibrate your speedo as if you don't, your shift points will be off.

it also makes the world of difference offroad... I would much rather have the engine keep me slow than use brakes on the trail and slide around. Even though I have an auto, it does great when put in 1.
I sure would have let you too, crash. I spent 599 on the gears and install kits from northridge and the shop here installed them for 550 I dropped another 30 at oreily's for pinion bearings too. It was right at 1200. Def worth it. Next time we ride, remind me if you don't have gears yet and I will let you check it out.
