Default 4:88's and 35's

Sorry to beat the same horse, but I am ready to purchase new wheels and tires, and was wondering what the 35's are going to do for me as relates to performance. I have a 6-speed and 4:88's. Don't get me wrong, I like the look for the larger tires, but I am looking at a $2500.00 investment and was wondering what I can expect once I put these on my rig.
I know right now that I am running 3000 rpms at 70mph, and have very little response left to pass anyone. I know the rpms should drop to a more "acceptable range" with the 35's, but is that the only advantage. If so, why go with the 35's over 33's.
