I am going to regear from 3:21's, but will not be changing my tires for a couple of months yet. I am running the 32 X 10.5 M/T's, but will be going to 35's. Will this cause me any discomfort until I make the change in tires. I know right now that the JK is great on the flat, but any type of hills cause me frustration. Also, when pulling my small trailer, it is all but impossible to make any headway on hills.

Gears are the way to go to make it up hills and stay in the same gear in the trans.

An expert I'm not, but I've researched this ad nauseam, only difference being I'm going to continue to run 33x11.50s rather than 35s (or stock 32x10s as you have for the time being). 4.88s are in my future, but there are a lot of guys happily running 5.13s with 35s.

Were I you, I'd not hestitate to run 4.88s with stock rubber. It's only two months. Engine might be a little busy, but nothing to worry about at the rpms you're going to experience.

Good luck with your decision.

I think 4.88s are perfect for a 6 speed and 35s. I still have plenty of reduction with the rubicon 4.1 transfer case. I find when I have a load I occasionally have to down shift on very steep long hills, but otherwise I couldn't be happier with the set up! I only upgraded from 4.10s but you should really notice the difference. One thing you will find with the smaller tires is you may not use or need first gear until you get the 35s!

The small trailer and even with a 6 speed would have me heavily weighing how much I am going to be towing it around and the consideration of 5.13s. Those extra 5% of rpm could be the difference in a lot of downshifting if you are dealing with a fair amount of hills locally and definitely with the trailer.
