Default 4" lift

alright jeepers, i just installed a 4" lift. I should've gone with a 2.5 at most but its done.
i'm looking to buy 35" tires... so my questions are, which would be the best tire (daily driver and occasional off roading), and how much trimming do i need to do to the fender flares or do i even need to do that??

thanks!

Start by telling us the 'type' of tire you are looking for, AT / Aggressive AT / MT, the type of terrain you encounter on your offroad trips, what size rim you have or will be getting, etc. But with zero information, you should just go for Duratracs...

For the trimming, we have no clue. How much actual lift height did you get, stock flares, or have they been trimmed or swapped for flats, how much bumpstop are you running, will you be disconnecting, etc. But again, with no information, you best bet is just to go flex it out, get out, and look.

I'd say for a daily driver with occasional mild trail riding Toyo Open Country A/T's would be perfect

Here is a pic of our 4" TRAIL system on 35's and stock fenders.
No rubbing.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum, it's pretty evident that this is your first post...!

My suggestion is to use the search option and do some of your own research first, then ask around for opinions once you find something you like. Fill out your profile, add pictures, and as mentioned above, give us details of what you want to do with your Jeep! If not, you'll be given a ton of info on tires that you may not even want!

I have the 4" Rancho Sport Lift with LT315/70R17 (34.4") Duratracs on M/T Classic IIIs on my 2010 JKUS and they do not rub when stuffed. In fact, if I trimmed my fenders and the pinch seam I could easily go with 37"ers.

4" of lift and 35" tires you should be fine without trimming the fenders. I'm assuming you bought a 4" kit that came with appropriate length shocks and bump stops, if not make sure that you have adequate bumps stops so you don't bottom out the shocks. Which brand/kit did you get? Different brands net different amounts of lift. For instance, some advertised 4" net 3.5" while some advertised 2.5" will net 3" of actual lift. The added weight of aftermarket bumpers and winches also determine the actual net lift.

At 4" you will probably need an aftermarket driveshaft sooner than later, and if the kit did not come with one, you will need an aftermarket adjustable front track bar.

Welcome to the board. Good luck and enjoy your Jeep
