Default 4" Long Arm too much for 35's?

Is four inches way too much for just 35's? I'm bouncing around lift ideas, and today's thought is the Full Traction Long Arm 4" Lift, but I only want 35's (at least for now) Later on I will go bigger, but I would prefer not to have to swap out the lift when I do. I know, I should get the 3" and then tube flares or BL or BB to fit 37's later, but I read that WOL isn't enjoying his 4" SA with 37's. I can only imagine it would be worse with 38's+.

Part of me is looking at the Rockkrawler 3.5" LA that can be upgraded to 5.5 later, but the Rockkrawler is quite a bit more invasive, and not great on a daily driver, from what I've read.

Also, on the FT Long Arm's, are there HD front springs available dimilar to the 3" SA?

I think that would be a great setup. I'm interested too see how the Shrock Rails will fit...or not fit...looking at the sema pictures, it doesnt look good. I was hoping to never revisit that install...

I'm planning on going the 4" LA, 35's route. My kit won't be to me for another couple of weeks, so I can't give you solid feedback on that yet.

I can tell you however that the LA kit ships with HD springs standard. (at least that's what I've been told personally)

I've thrown David at Northridge 4x4 many questions about this lift, and he's been patient enough to answer 'em all. Sounds like a pretty solid choice, and will allow for upgrading to 37's when you want to move past the 35's... and eventually you could up to the 6" springs if you wanted to go even bigger. Sounds like a good plan if you're not sure what size tires you want to end up with.

I think you'll be fine with a 4" and 35's.

When I had my RE 3.5", the 35's would rub in the front under full flex.
I dont get how people are running 35's on a 3", let alone 37's with only a 4", it cant flex too well

Now I have the RE 4.5" LA and I love it!
The extra room it is perfect, and it flexes like crazy with the 35's.
It rides great, flexes great and the radius arms do not bind up like people think they do.
I also like the fact that the LA arm brackets dont hang below the frame to catch on things.
Also with the 4.5" (which is said to run 37's) if I ever want to run 37's, I'll just replace the fenders with a flat style and be good to go

I was checking out the FT too, but I just couldnt get over loosing important ground clearance (4 door) to all the arm brackets.
That and the rear upper arms only appear to be an inch longer then the stock uppers, so whats the point

Here is couple quick cell phone pics of my RE 4.5...
Its only been on 3 weeks so it hasnt been offroad yet, and the ditch wasnt enough to max it out

I'm debating on doing the same setup. I think it would look fine, and flex like crazy

This is the setup I would really like to go with. I like the RE lift. I am just not sure if it is worth the extra $$$ on the JK. I would hate to make the wrong choice with that much money.

Will do. I'm thinking this thing'll look pretty decent when I get my fastback and lift in and installed. I'm already excited about it... patience is killing me.

I think a 4" LA kit will be just fine with 35s. That's what I plan on doing - and the best part is you can just add some 6" springs later and up it to 37 if you feel like. No new arms required.
