4" Rough Country debate
I recently purchased a 4" rough country suspension lift, shocks and coils.
2009 rubicon unlimited
I'm running 35"s, might go bigger in the future.
I go offroading 10-15 times a year, hills, mud, little articulation.
Would like to get into some more aggressive terrain, some rocks.
Would this suspension set up be good for this type of offroading? My debate is to sell the lift and buy a kit complete with control arms, shocks and coils. Or should I keep this kit and just buy control arms?
Thanks

I've been going thru the same delema... I have a 4" Skyjacker lift same as urs, I found out by just putting adjustable control arms u can re-center the axle and fit 37s no problem (cut pinch seam of course) so I'm going that route for now then by end of summer I plan on installing evo bolt on coilovers (as long as no unexpected expenses arise) good luck... Hope this helps
I will defiantly be installing control arms when the time comes, I'm just concerned the the ride would be bad on and offroad if just installed larger shocks and coils before the control arms.
it will on road, the caster on the front axle will lean foward and cause darty steering. mine was like that but for now i went the cheaper way and got the rough country control arm drop brackets and they have been better than i thought they would be. i do plan on adjustable control arms but for like $90 it was a good answer for me at this time.
I have a 4" Rough Country also and I'm running 37's. I had drop brackets installed to use stock control arms and not mess with the caster. It runs great on and off road. I don't do rocks and its my daily driver but I'm extremely happy with it.

I also have the 4" Skyjacker and 37", do are you using a body lift? Or does you rims give you the clearance needed to avoid hitting the pinch seam?

I think the ride quality is great! I have a spot on my track bar where the stock steering stabilizer is rubbing. I do have the relocation bracket on. There is no sag even with aftermarket bumpers. I love the quality and ride if this life, I just don't know why this is rubbing on the track bar. Any input would be great? Other than that I love the lift.

Are you using a stock stabilizer or aftermarket? If stock may need to try and use a relocation kit or swap out to a aftermarket. I'm running the RC 674x kit and dual stabilizer with aftermarket front bumper with a winch and toolbox and having no concerns.
