40s on factory Rubicon axles?
Anybody running 40s on their Rubicon axles. I've got upgraded axle shafts but don't have the money to put 60s on (the tires are expensive enough!!!)My feeling is to stick with 37s to be safe but I'd appreciate the feedback.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Did you break an axle or the Rubi E locker? and does that mean driving back with front wheel drive?
Hope all goes well with the repair

I am running the 39 krawler on Front Rubi axle and non rubi rear 44. I have an RCV in the front with an external sleeve on the tubes. I Run the superior 30 spline rear chromo's with an arb locker and have a truss on the rear to help with deflection. I am going to upgrade to the 35 spline arb and 35 spline axles because I have been breaking the rears. I beat on mine pretty hard in the same kinda crap that you would be wheelin in. I think you would be fine as long as you build it correctly or if you don't wheel it hard. I would love to have a 60 front and a shaved 14 bolt in the rear but it is kind of expensive. But hell it's kind of expensive either way.
what he said, front chromoly at the shaft, NOT the u-joint and while just running 37's. running 40's on a factory sahara 44 with 35 spline shafts, i've blown out a rear r&p but then, it was a 5.38 and knew it would go sooner than later. i've also managed to break a rear chomoly semi-float 60 shaft running 40's and, is why i now run a full-float pro rock 60.
