5.38's (if you have the D44 up front) otherwise you're restricted to 5.13
The charts that are out are good, but at your elevation and constant hills, you're in a whole different league.

The elevation isn't as big of a factor as many believe as the vehicle will be moving through thinner air with the aerodynamics of a barn and that is what the majority of power is contending with.
In any case, when you are dealing with steep grades, the steeper gear set is going to be more beneficial.

Reason I was steering for the ARB, last winter we got quite a bit of snow, after the snow plow goes by there is a 2' high by 3 or 4 feet wide pile of snow in front of the driveway. Hated to shift in 4wd just to get thru it, then switch back out.
If there was a way to switch the stock rear locker in, without shifting into 4wd. That would be a good thing. Anyway to be able to switch it in while in 2wd?
Alot of the times going into the mountains that would be all that you need, just to have both wheels spinning in the rear. I had a pickup with a posi, and it would go in alot of surprising places, until the clearance came into play.

you can do a locker mod and be able to select your rear locker in 2wd (very easy to do, some wire and switches). this would be the most logical way to accomplish what your after and save you some money for something else. i would listen to plannman he knows his stuff.

Wow reviving an old post....
I'm in the process of changing from 35in 4.88's to 37in 5.38's. Hoping to see some improvements but realistically as long as I don't lose any "performance" in this 3.8 I'm good.
