5.13 on auto tranny
after research and questions, i went ahead, called dave at northridge and he also said 5.13s. problem i have is that im getting mixed reviews from mechanics around where i live. they say its too high and as a daily driver i might be too high on rpms. what do you guys think?
its an auto unlimited on 35"s with a 4" lift. 18" wheels. please tell me i ordered the right parts and i wont regret the install. should be done by next week. thanks guys...

I just went 5.13's a couple months ago and I have an auto, 3.5" lift, and 35's and am very happy with the ratio. It's the right choice for your setup. While you've heard the "it's too high a ratio" from the mechanics, if you notice on this forum (which is loaded with lifts, bigger tires, etc like your Jeep), very rarely, if ever, does anyone say they went too high on gearing. If anything, just like tires, you'll always regret getting the lesser size or ratio. My $0.02.
My JKU is still basically stock, but I've spent enough time reading through this forum to know that I have seen very few (probably less than 2-3) people go to 5.13 and then post that they wished they had gone with 4.88's. If anything, it seems some people wish they had gone 5.38.
If you look at most of the gearing charts, it seems like you are only talking about a few hundred rpm different between the sizes. I just can't imagine that the rpm difference is going to put that much more stress on the motor.
Just my .02
