Default 5.13s 35s NO POWER

I was certain. In fact, I would have bet most of what little money I have that the 5.13 gears would solve my power problems... Nope. This thing (4 door rubi) can not make it up I-70 (Colorado highway) in third gear.

If you are thinking gears will fix your problem - in Colorado at least - you are mistaken.

End venting... NOW.

I am headed to the bar (walking).

I-70 is a mean ass grade...I drove it out from Richfield, UT. to Denver a couple years ago when I went on vacation. I'm sure the power from your re-gear is much more suitable for roads that don't climb QUITE that steep.

That's strange. I just drove I-70 from Utah to Denver and the lowest I had to go was 4th, but mainly split time between 5th and 6th. I have an unlimited with 34's and 4.88's.
Maybe it's my magnaflow that helps.

Its his torque converter robbin his Horsepower. He probably does just fine crawling over things with that combo though---- But highway driving would leave something to be wanted.

i feel ya brother. i live in el paso and drove to ruidoso last weekend and had to turn off th o/d to maintain 70 (especially going up the hill past tullarosa). this is with 35 toyos, 5.13s, intake, and exhaust. cruised at 4k the whole way and almost took me half a tank.

There is only an inch difference in tire, and I thought the higher the gear ratio the more "power". Is that not right? I mean most people are doing 37's with 5.13s so should he not hit the power band sooner? Not arguing just trying to understand.

have any of you guys with the auto got a programer, and set the new gear ratio and tire size etc...i know with 4.10s and 35s programed a buddys auto with his new programer....made a big difference.....not optimal, but make a difference....

what is the elevation change up there prob pretty significant...just wondering....

gear will help alot, but altitude, incline and thinner air hurt alot.....
