What do i need to order when upgradeing to 5:13s besides the gears do i need the over haule or just the gears and the instalation kit

Technically only the installation kit. However, most people recommend the overhaul kit. It replaces the bearings among other things that you need to reuse with the installation kit.

You will want to call your installer and ask if he will do gears without new bearings. Sometimes the bearings are very tough to get off and they can get damaged. Some installers wont do gears without bearings.

what is the typical install price of a set of gears? just an average price. and what is way too much.

I would not pay more than 400 per axle.

300 is average I would say

I paid $800 for my install. Not sure how that compares to others.

i was quoted $2250 for both axles. parts and labor.

just the gears. no bearing.


(im currently shopping for a new quote)
