Default 5:13's... Do I need anything else???

So I'm going to eventually regear to 5:13's and was wondering if there is anything else I need to upgrade of beef up along with the new gears? I'm running an auto with 3:73's right now.

I would consider putting a locker in at the same time since it will be open.

Staying with 33's?

There are some known weak points on the front axles. May not be needed, but might be a good call if you are in the mood to do some welding. - C gussets and reinforcing the trackbar mounts would be a decent place to start. May some control arm skids. Next step would be inner and/or outer axle sleeves and/or a truss. Chromoly or rcv axle shafts. Pro steer ball joints. Manual hub conversion.

Or scrap it and grab a ProRock.

Just depends on your budget and how you plan to use it.

I remember seeing something about that as well, but I'm running 3:73 and didn't read into it too much. check under the Sponsor forum and find where Northridge was advertising their gears or call/email David and Northridge and he'll tell you. I remember him addressing it in the thread.

Yes. I got my D30 carrier from David @ Northridge.

Incidentally, my installer said that my spider gears wouldn't fit the new carrier. They had some in stock that did. I've never heard of anyone else having that issue.

You'll love the 5.13's.

Wouldnt fit? That is very odd. I would like to know more as we sell these same carriers all the time and never have hear dof any issues.

If you want to do your Dana 30 right, I suggest a decent set of chromoly axle shafts + EVO gussets, sleeves and LCA skids.

And, honestly, the JKS track bar brace is worth every dime (heavily reinforces the weak stock track bar mount @ the axle, as well as the tube in an area shown to be prone to break).

If you have money left over when you're done, an Aussie Locker is HUGE bang for your buck.

Sorry, David, but I don't know any more. That's all they told me.
