5.38 Gears on 35's Help
The gear chart shows 2500RPM @ 70MPH with 35's and 5.38's with an auto.
I'm picking up a d44 rear axle with 5.38 gears in it. Is this gear ratio and tire combo good for a DD around town and highway? Is it going to rev out of controll? Theres alot of misinformation about this and i'd like to clear the air. Also will i NEED a programer since the new gears and 35's go on?

Way too much gear on a JK running 35's, regardless of auto or 6speed. It will suck gas like crazy, run high rpm's at higher speeds, and be a weak link because of the reduction of material caused by more teeth. I honestly wouldn't consider it with less than a 37" tire
