Default 52" tires on a JK?

Has anyone gone up to the 52" tire range? I have the opportunity and I'm wondering what other people have done.

Note: I don't care if you thin 52 is too much tire or stupid, I am only curious about helpful information.

The Kraken is the best known. Rolling 54" Baja Claws. http://blog.extremeterrain.com/cop-4...p-on-54-tires/

Running that size just takes away the functionality.

Unless you plan to fabricate it for something specific like mud running or chopping up the frame and getting insanely wide axles so it can still go offroad.

I don't think front and rear 14 bolts will cut it. You'll want to run some 2.5 ton Rockwells for sure.

Another company, fab fours I think, put some crazy oversized tires on a jeep without lifting it. There was massive body work but if you want 52's then go for it. If you look on YouTube for various mud running events, I've seen a couple jku's with those size tires and basically you're looking at building your own subframe and suspension to hook up the Rockwell axles.

Yeah, those are some sick builds. Must be 80" wide axles.

I think 52s would be awesome. There was a guy on Military Jeepers selling some MRAP axles for dirt cheap that would hold up to those tires. Jeep dreamer is his screen name I think.

Throw on some MRAP's, clock the T-case for center drop axles, run all the lift.
