OK so I just crossed Alligator Alley here in Florida twice this week and had the same question and some additional.....(Sorry, not to Hijack the thread).

1) 6th Gear did not give me enough "power" meaning I had pedal all the way down and speed was 70-75 at most. The alley is mostly flat and yes any slight incline, I automatically started loosing more power.

2) 5th Gear I was just under 3000 rpms and I was able to go above 80 without having to floor it. Yes I do realize that I was losing more gas that 6th.

Additional questions: Will it hurt the Jeep to run 5th gear for that long period of time or distance? What the hell is the purpose of having 6th if it has less power the 5th or is there something wrong with my JK? Is there a fix or do I just stop using 6th completely? I've heard from a few people around town to re-gear or it's a programming issue, which is true?

-I'm running 33s on a 2" lift, k&n intake

I had tge same problem when I had 3.21 gears on my jk sport 6 spd. I was never able to use 6 th. The programer helped on 93 tune with cold air intake and exhaust but it was still useless until I re geared to 4.88 s with 35 inch tires. Get a re gear to 4.56 for better milage with 33s

I had to really try hard to get to 70 mph now it gets there and more in 6 th no problem with gears superchips cold air intake and MBRP exhaust. Totally different ride and power. Off road is way better I can actually spin the tires lol.
