Are you serious? Yeah that is essentially 'all' gears do, but by doing this you put the engine back in its powerband. 65 mph in 6th gear turning 2200 is NOT in the 3.8s powerband hence why it takes forever to pull a hill with 4.10s. 4.88s put the engine @ ~2600 rpm where the engine is much happier.
