Default 6spd-auto swap

So i realize this is probably a no brainer, but i have been dying to do it forever and have been afraid to ask if its even possible... so excuse my stupidity but is it possible to convert my 6spd to a auto? I mean im sure it is, but can it be done at a reasonable cost and amount of work? Or is it a lost cause?

thanks guys.

The biggest obstacle would be the electronics. I dont know if a simple flash would be able to control the auto. Other than that it should bolt right in. It would probably be cheaper in the long run to just sell the one you have and buy an auto though.

i originally ordered a ruby from NC and then 2 weeks later they informed me that the 6k down-payment we put down on it did not hold it and they sold it anyway. The only other 4 door auto ruby within 400 miles was yellow and it wouldnt be at the dealer for a month they said. I looked at all the choices i had and this was the closest to what i wanted. :( Sadly i didnt get a mygig/hard top/ or a auto even though thats what i wanted :P I was doing good to get black lol. And at the time i had no idea what i was looking for in a jeep. I just wanted it cuz i wanted something 4wd

What's wrong with yellow?

By the way, my situation was completely the opposite. There were no manual Unlimited Rubicons anywhere near us. I wanted a soft top and no MyGig and was not particular with any colors - Red, White, Yellow, Silver, Green, didn't matter to me. I like them all. So I ended up driving 3 hours to Wilkesboro, NC to get my Yellow Rubi in 6-spd. It only came with a hardtop which I sold a few days later and bought a soft top from another forum member a week later. Ended up making money out of the hard-soft top swap. Who woulda thunk it?

Don't swap for an auto - you'll regret it. Jeeps should be manual anyways.

Mine's yellar too. Don't even think of switching it out. much cheaper to trade it..... My yellow auto unlimited is perfect for me. I rowed the gears on my YJ for 200,000 miles and got tired of it. The auto is probably as capable as a manual. Please, don't rip me boys- this is my opinion. not a debate point....

Good eye.

Yeah that's Wolf Den trail at URE last year. My wife and I go a few times in the summer and camp at Badin lake. We try to reserve lot 18 on the outer loop since we take our boat and can just tie it to a tree. We do some of the milder trails when we're alone since I don't have a winch or much recovery gear, but we've done Daniels on my '05 TJ - not on the JK yet. I don't want to damage anything. I busted a diff cover, punctured my muffler and destroyed an MT/R tire on my TJ when I ran Daniels a few years back.

When I get my 3" FT ultimate and some 35s on my JK this summer, I think I'll run Daniels with a group of other JKers, but until then, its Wolf Den and Falls Dam for me.
