Default 8.5 width wheel and 7.5 width wheel?

my 2012 wrangler sahara has 18in 7.5 width stock wheel. (is it right? 7.5 in?)

and I'm thinking to change to AEV 17in 8.5 saberge black wheel or keep my stock wheel. but if i keep my stick wheel, I'll paint it black.

so here is my question. 17in 8.5 width and 18in 7.5 width. which one is better for riding? as off roaring and paved road.

also how much for painting wheel? which one you guys recommend to me?

Depends also on how wide of a tire you plan on going with.

Need more info; what tires do you plan on running?

i'm thinking to put on lt295 70 r 18 or r17 , lt 285 also considering.

35' is too big for me i think.. I'll usually use on commute and off roaring just for fun. not for hard core off roaring.

I like looks of off roaring tune,,

Personally, with a skinny tire like you describe, I would go for the 7.5 as that will provide a little better sidewall protection than an 8.5" wide wheel. I have seen too many issues on the trail caused by a narrow tire on a wider wheel. That 1" difference can really make a difference if you actually wheel your rig.

Then again, if your only wheeling will be in the mall parking lot it really doesn't matter.

This is true. I'm running 35X12.50's on the stock 7.5's and it does great
