Default 8" or 9" rim!!!

I am about to buy the rims and tires!!!

35 inch Procomp Extreme MTs
Black Series 97 Steel Procomp Rims

Here is the question- Do I go with an 8" or 9" rim. Both are listed as 4.5" back spacing. I was about to go with the 8's from posts here, but the on line dealer was suggesting the 9's (then I noticed he only had the 9's in stock).

Thanks for the quick response!!

I think 8's are fine.

either would be fine.

just remember if the backspacing is the same, the 9" rims will stick out 1" further than the 8".

plenty of guys are running 12.50s on the stock 7.5" wide rims. i know alot of tire shops like at least 8.5" wide rims for a 12.50" applications.

I agree with the others. Either is fine. I'm running 8" rims, but I probably would have picked 9" rims for the 12.5" wide tires had the backspacing been what I wanted for my application. What you should get depends on the tire mostly. Most manufacturers provide a number that indicates the acceptable range for the wheel. You can go outside of that, but then the tread may not wear properly.

The order has been placed!! I went with the 8" rims. Aftermarket TPSMs are being installed with the package. They guaranteed that they would pick up automatically once installed. Great deal being offerred with the Procomp tires and wheels at a buy 3 get one free deal!

I would definately suggest shopping around and calling for the best price. The on line sites will work for your business.
