8" KC's Bumper or Windshield???
Need some help. Not to familiar with offroad light.
Just got a set of 8" KC slimlight long range 130W.
Which location is best for functionality??? Hood / Front Bumper?
I wanted to put them on the windshield (like the look) but not sure if I want to spend the money for the mopar bracket and thats the only one I like.
Need th know if they are going to give me equal or better performance on the bumper?
Are there drawbacks to either location besides the possible reflection off the hood?
Any and all input welcome and appreciated.

i assume you meant the 6" slimlights, the only 8" KC makes is the rally 800 lights, and they are monsters.
But yeah, i'd go with putting them on the window. They will light your hood up a little, but unless you are sensitive to light like a bat, they won't give you a problem with glare. They are long range lights, so having them higher up will give you a better throw as far as lighting goes. I have a set of the daylighters on my bumper, but i wish i had put them on my window pillars.
If you want that classic TJ look, then put them on the bumper.
also, there are other brackets out there for the window mounts that are much cheaper then Mopar. The KC brackets are really cheap from quadratec.com.
just my 2 cents.

Boy, that's a tough one... as long as they are the spots I think either place will give you about the same performance w/out any issues... so I'd say let your decision rest w/your budget and what you like the looks of. If you put your spots on the windshield, and they are pretty focused beams, you won't have much (if any) glare off the hood. The higher the lights get, the worse they are in heavy snow and fog type conditions... but generally speaking, in those conditions, no bright lights are good... too much reflection back at you. I had a similar delima and went w/both. I like to have spots and floods... so I went w/spots on the windshield (w/mopar brackets) and floods on the bumper... So if you ever think you'll add two more lights to where ever you don't right now... then put your spots on the windshield... and then later on put some floods up front:

They are in fact the Rally 800's. Got a deal on that other auction site. Looked at both the 6" and 8" but for $135.00(offered and accepted) could not pass up.
Thanks for the input and pics. Needed to see them on a jeep. Clacky's look good though. Hope they do not interfere with the Mirror relocation brackets I have on.
