The style is great, but if I spend $700+ (just a guess based on a previous post, I haven't gotten an email back yet) I want to know that if I do graze a tree or rock or even hit it full on I won't have to replace my bumper.

look at their ad on Denver craigaslist, it now shows pricing $720.00.

Most of us have cast aluminum wheels and we don't see them breaking every day.

Actually I've only seen one break...hit by a train. No, I'm not kidding.

I sense a lil bit of bitterness when really, we should be celebrating. Its time the aftermarket made parts out of aluminum and saved some weight.

everythign is good ole heavy steel. This is the first ALUM bumper for JK's I have been looking for an Alum bumper for so long and contemplating making my own, weldign it together. THis is is awesome.
I emailed them as well.

It would really be awesome if they could make a full size bumper, and not just a stubby.

I have beat the crap out of aluminum wheels for years with no issues! Aluminum is very strong! I want one are they availible yet? This will help make up for some of my extra hemi weight!

Don't forget Teraflex makes their sliders from aluminum. Haven't heard of anyone "gouging" theirs instead of sliding right along.

Yeah, it really depends on the alloy. My Gary Fisher mountain bike is aluminum and I've beaten the shit out of it over the past few years. Its held up just as well to the abuse as my steel bike does. Actually better, its not as scratched up and I don't have to worry about touching it up because it won't rust.

Steel will flex more without breaking though, where aluminum tends to crack if pushed too far. In the situation of mountain bikes, steel ones ride better due to this and a quality steel bike is actually pretty expensive.

I'd like to see some stress tests with it. On their site, they are picking it up by its recovery (frame=steel) points. That isn't impressing me much.

X2, but would prefer some protection offered for the grill.
