Default About regearing- 4.88s, 5.13s

So I am currently acquiring all the parts for my build and am torn between new gears

I have a 2 dr 6 speed, currently with 3.21s. I purchased the 4" Superlift and will be running 35s for a while, but may want to go to 37s in the far off future. I do a lot of freeway driving on a daily basis, and wheel kind of infrequently. Now I know most everyone has 5.13s, but doesn't this run a little high at freeway speeds? Wow will this set up be (5.13s, 35s) running at like 75mph? Would I be better off with 4.88s...I mean I have a 6 speed and can always downshift, right?

In my LJ I ran 4.88s with the 6 spd and 35s and loved it. It was great on the highway and went up the hills with out down shifting to third gear. My JK is an auto and I have 5.13 running 37s and it is not quite enough but then again is is an auto.

From your discription of your driving I would go with the 4.88s unless you jump right to 37s. Remember that there is a big jump in price from 35s to 37s and all the 37s I know of do not have a off road warranty which the 35s I ran did.

I say 4.88's since you do mostly freeway, and not a lot of wheeling.

Dude, go w/ the 5.13's (its only a couple hundred rpm's more)

If you're even considering 37's then the 5.13's are your best bet!

Being I run 5.13's and 35's with a 6 speed, RubyDoo basically shits and gets starting from a light. In 6th gear going down the hiway @ 72MPH she is doing 3000 rpm. You can leave the cruse on and let her climb up hills at hiway speeds and she just stays the same speed. Being she is a Rubicon, the 4lo is almost too low for some situations and i use 5th and some times 6th gear to keep up with others running down flat trails.

I would go with the 4.88s for the 6 speed with 35s. I went this way and am very happy. At 100kph (canadian speed 100 = 62.5mph) it runs 2500 rpm in 6th gear.
