Default Acceleration Hesitation

I was in the mountains this weekend and noticed that when I was on the side of an incline and floored it that the jeep would hesitate and then take off. Is this normal and why. It kind of sounded like a weedeater when you fire it up and it is cold if you squeeze the trigger it hesitates and then takes off.

Thanks. Jeremy

that is your ESP you will want to disable that when you are off-road unless you are doing high speed. What is happening as I understand it; the computer believes you are on pavement it is determining the angle of steering and the difference of inside and outside wheel travel. The computer believes that you have roll potential based on the readings it is receiving from the sensors at the wheels and is limiting the throttle and applying the breaks to get yoy back in line.

When off road hold down your ESP button which is at the bottom of your center consol for 3 sec. In 4 hi it will switch to a new mode. In 4lo it will turn off and you will see the words ESP OFF on the dash.

I have forgotten many times and that sensation you felt is exactly what happens.

If I have relayed any instructions in error, sorry as i am doing it from memory.
