Default Ace Engineering or Smittybuilt Rock Rails? Preference???

I am looking at the ACE Engineering Rock Rails at $300 out the door which now includes lifetime warranty against product defect anf breakage which is a BIG plus. My other option I am looking at is the Smittybuilt SRC Rocker Rails for $315 out the door thru Quadratec.

Anyone out there with strong feeling either way I've read the posts about the ACE Engineering ones and those that purchased them appear to be happy with their decision.

Any opinions shared would be greatly appreciated.

A friend of mines Smitty's needed a lot of manipulation to line up. The ACE one's allow the use of Rubicon stock rails for cheap extra protection. I plan on getting the ACE's.

I have no experience with the smitty product but if you compare apples to apples you find the ACE rails have a considerably higher customer satisfaction and fit finish rate. From what I can see they have also just modified their mounting system to include three points instead of two. I think the decision is obvious - but it's yours.

I just got my ACE Engineering sliders on Monday, so I am a bit biased

One of the big factors for me was the difference in material. This alone speaks volumes to me:

ACE Engineering - 2" dia x 0.134 wall tubing

Smittybilt SRC Rocker Guards - 1.75" .120 wall tubing

Points in favor of ACE - Larger diameter tube, heavier gauge tube, lifetime no bs warranty...

Just installed my ACE sliders yesterday. The 3 point attachment looks to be real strong AND everything lined up perfectly. You can't say that for the Smittybuilt. Save yourself some aggravation and go ACE (and they look better too).

assuming youre in a 2dr, otherwise they just went up another $40.

the products looked decent enough, but the reasonable pricing was one of the main factors that attracted me to his products...but once you compare the total SHIPPED prices of theirs and other manufacturer's products, i suddenly find myself back at square 1 in my search.

Bought my Smittys on Amazon for less than $250 and got free shipping (it did take forever though). Install was extremely easy as long as you have someone help hold them. Only had them a couple of weeks so we'll see how they hold up.

Put the Ace on my 2011 4 door Rubi today by myself- just used a jack to help line them up. I like the product- everything lined up fine. I did have a minor issue- when taking down the 18mm bolts they would unscrew and then hang there but not come down. I called Adam at Ace and he told me some JK's have retainer clips on the bolts and some don't. He told me to just pry them down and I did- no issues at all.

Rockin ACE rails here - very solid and install was a piece of cake. Those guys are cranking out some cool stuff, they seem to know what Jeepers want, well built and for a good price.

Neither one. I just ordered the OR-FAB. Don't like the way the ace mount and the same with Smitty's Both leave the pinch seem exposed. I don't like that look. The OR-FAB bolts to the pinch seem and then under the Jeep leaving a flat surface under the Jeep where the other two don't. I would prefer a little larger dia tube but for the money they'll do. I already straighten my pinch seem once don't plan on doing it again. The other two should work OK as rock rails but the OR-FAB will also work as a slider and about the same money, but to each their own just my 2 cents.
