ACE Rock Sliders - 2 door install

UPS delivered my rock sliders tonight. Two big boxes, each labeled "driver" or "passenger". I wasn't going to wait for help, so I tackled the job myself. Bolts came out easy enough. I had to grind quite a bit off one washer. I'm not sure if it was the washer being too big or the rockslider opening being too small. I had to improvise a way to hold them up while I got the bolts started... the answer was in the boxes! I used one of the shipping boxes and the foam shipping material to prop up the bar for mounting. It worked perfect!

After a bit of a torture getting the bolts started, the tightened right up. I set the torque to 80lbs and torqued it down till it clicked. Here's the pictures from a few angles. Sorry for the poor pictures, camera phone and all! Overall I was impressed with the weld quality and powder coat. Seems like a very tough product. I'll check the torque in a few days, I'd think those bolts might be suspect of working their way lose.

could you just use a smaller washer?

Looking good, I have a set on order for my mall crawler, but I don't expect them for another couple of weeks.

Ace sliders were my first mod. I like them very much.

You can but you would need a new body mount bolt as well. The washer does not come off of the bolt.

If you noticed when you took the bolts out they have blue locktite on from the factory. You can re-apply the the locktite if your worried about them coming lose.
