Default Adding coil spacers to susp kit?

I actually have a 3.5'' RE kit (gives 4'') with 35'' tires. Id like to go 37''. Since my control arms & trackbars are ajustable, is it possible to add coil spacers to get a lil more clearance without replacing anything else? will my shocks bottom out for sure?

thanx for your input

Yes you can add the spacers for a little more lift. The only difference in there 3.4 and 4.5 inch lift kits are the springs. Everything else is the same, I have a buddy who just gave RE a call and they sold him the 4.5 inch springs to upgrade his suspension.

Great info, many thanx smcastillo

So i understand I can put up to 1'' spacers without replacing the shocks. I then will have to lengthen a bit both upper & lower control arms? Is it someway to figure out exactly the new CA measurements?

thanx again;

I got an angle meter (forget tech name) from home depot in tool area by rulers and.levels and such. U put it on the bottom of the axle C on the flat area by the lower ball joint nut. Make sure ur on.level ground. Adjust as necessary.

You may want to research the need for longer bumpstops. Adding coil spacers does nothing to limit upward suspension travel. Although you may not need them.

Mscastillo, does your buddy have the long arms or short arms kit? Wondering if this could make a difference? Thanx for the angle finder tip; I will also take a look at the 4.5'' install instructions and see if i can find the recommanded lengh for control arms.

Bondsy, very good point, thanx for pointing that out;

Fwiw I set my arms to 23" eye to eye as most do.. it pulled a lil bit. That's when I got the angle tool. I then saw my caster was less on driver side. My caster is at 5 now and its even on both sides, but my driver lca has twice as many threads showing. Drives great now. So I would go by what the angle tool says after u put them in.

You got me curious, i think ill get the angle tool just to check both sides angle. It rides very well right now, but i wanna see if both sides are even. I thought caster was the pinion angle from ground level, but center can be fairly ok without having the same measurements on both sides? this calls for tunning

So will i be good with my non-ajustable LCAs or I'll have to replace em for sure? Im looking for a quick and unexpensive lift upgrade.

oh well, i know, theirs no easy way
