Default Additional Clearance and Shock Upgrade

Hey guys, I guess this will be my introduction post, as I am a Life Long 4x4 Enthusiast, Long Time Jeep Fan, a First time jeep owner, and a first post JK-Forum Member

My names Joe, I live put here in New York State, and currently getting dumped on with snow, after a few days of thinking it might possibly be over lol. I drive a 2010 Jeep JK, Its a 2 door, sport, with the auto, 30 Front and 44 rear, with the 3.73. Recently came across a great deal on a set of Brand New tires on an impulse purchase, matched them up against a sick set of wheels, drooled over them for a couple weeks ... Then realized I need a lift. I scooped up the 2.5" Rough Country Coil Lift, without shocks for a couple hundred bucks. Last weekend a buddy and myself finally worked out a time to get started, Installed the Lift, Mounted and Balanced the Tires and wheels... and Drooled some more ...

Couple Hundred miles later... Well im very happy with the appearance of the rig! Much better than Stock for sure! Buttttt, the gears have started turning, saved up a couple more pennys, and can certainly use any input or opinions you guys have for me before I make anymore impulse buys. #1 The lift and tires look good, but I don't know if I can say "Great" yet. Looks like maybe a little to much tire and not enough lift I love the 35's and not interested in going back the 33 route. Id like to go a little more lift, while still using my exsisting. Im thinking possible going .75-1.00 Spacer on top of the exsisting Coils, TB Drop Bracket, and sway bar links, Or other people have recommended 1.25" Body Lift. Later maybe adding a set of Flat or Tube Fenders to eliminate the bulky factorys. #2 The rough country lift I purchase was without shocks (an other impulse buy), I ran there shocks yearrrrs ago and wasn't impressed, but have never made contact with any of there 2.2's. Currently running the shock extentions, and the rear end is about as rough as my 85' Scottsdale. Upgrading shocks will be a must, but iv been waiting to figure out what additional lift ill be getting into.

May I add, this is Mine and my Wifes DD and weekend toy, it will spend 90% of the time on road, and weekends (10%) offroad. Occasional Logging Trails, and State Trails from one Hunting/fishing/camping site to an other. All Input grealy appreciated. And ill get Some pictures up for you guys asap

Many guys will say ditch the RC lift but i wont say that. As for shocks the most popular are probably the bilstein 5100's. The next up from that would be the fox 2.0. Im running the 2.0's and i can say the difference between my 5100's and the 2.0's were night and day. Mine are the BDS tuned units and seem to be a little on the softer side. 5100's are a great shock but ride a little stiff. Other options are rancho 9000 or 7000. Pro comp pro runners. Synergy monotubes. Rubicon express monotubes.

Keep the lift. Add some nice shocks and flat fenders. Go to go for a bit. You will want to upgrade later. We all do it

Shocks will give you an immediate improvement on ride. and with 2.5" of lift you can run 35s. I have a teraflex leveling kit with the stock 18/59 springs running 33's. My jeep had a really good ride, but something felt "off". I then added some Monroe monotubes and it made a huge difference over all road conditions. I am keeping 33s as I have not needed any bigger. My jeep drives great on and off road.

Any recommendation or opinions on any specific flat fenders? What looks better than what?
