Default Additional factor in lift install

So I finally decided on the teraflex 2.5 coil lift, lower control arms and front & rear track bars, all were waiting on the porch today when I got home.

this will be my first lift install so I imagine it will take awhile, and with all these darn earthquakes we keep having, I bet I'll be getting out from under the jeep a lot. I plan to have extra supports just in case.

Also, I am thinking of renting an impact wrench for the removal of some bolts. Any thoughts, is it necessary/helpful.

Soak everything with PB Blaster the night beforehand, it works remarkably well.

I have air, but it's not necessary for your installation IMO.

Congrats on getting the stuff. I bought a very similar setup back in January. I took my time and did it myself, no earthquakes. I see no need for impact tools, I was able to do everything just fine with the proper hand tools. However, I am still somewhat physically fit, not counting the back problems, not sure what your condition is. That would be the only reason I see to spend extra for impact tools.

Good luck with the install

If you have a breaker bar, you should be ok. I have air, but I find myself using hand tools more than anything. Good luck with your earthquakes. I suggest maybe a couple floor jacks under the frame.

Uh, elaborate a little. I assume you have jack stands under the frame, and a floor jack under the front axle. Set your lowers 23in eye to eye and use a rachet strap to pull the axle into position one side at a time if you cant manuver the floor jack correctly

I was able to get the stock arms back on, and will have to get some rachet straps over the weekend to try to put the teraflex ones on.

This was my very first time installing a lift and it was a long process, mostly because i could not get things to line up, fighting with the lca's.

I am glad I did it myself though, now if I can get the LCA's on and the final adjustment on the track bars I'll be set.

Next time , leave your jeep on the ground, take off one control arm, put floor jack under front pumpkin and jack up a little. Attach a rachet strap on one side to the axle and to the frame and crank it into position. Put bolt in, repeat for other side, torque to 125 ft lbs when all weight is on the ground.
