Default Adj. control arms on a 2.5" lift?

I'm currently running the aev 2.5" lift with their geometry brackets. I'm thinking about adding a full set of metal cloak arms for better ride quality. Are they worth running on a 2.5" lift?

Why is your ride quality bad? Replacing your drop brackets with a full set arms will probably not resolve it.

Why would you run geometry correction brackets that sacrifice ground clearance if your going to install adjustable arms that negate the need for the geometry brackets? If your buying into the arms, leave the brackets on the shelf. If your all in with the brackets, you'll be very unlikely to need the arms.

Meh at 2.5 all you need is front lowers. The brackets set caster same as front arms. Id say look somewhere else for a better ride like shocks.

Nothing wrong with my ride quality. Just looking to upgrade my suspension with better quality parts. I am really just looking to see if there is any benefit of metal cloak arms compared to my stock ones.

I have been running with the brackets for a few years now. Mostly off road I see is crawling down the beach. Just looking to see if there is any overall benefits of the metal cloak arms vs stock.

Stick with your brackets. MC arms will be stronger and allow more fine tuning but if you don't have problems why change? Upgrade something else.

It will ride even softer with the Mc Duroflex bushings, not that the OE bushings are a bad ride.

From what I have gathered so far, your ride will get worse with the adjustable control arms and no brackets. The brackets not only set caster but they correct the angle of the arms giving proper vehicle geometry. The arms will not. They will mount to the stock locations and be at a much steeper angle now that you have lifted the rig. That will make the ride much harsher and you’ll feel the bumps a lot more. It sounds like a good idea for a rock crawler that needs the clearance but for what we do the sacrifice in ride quality won’t be worth it. At least that’s what I have gained so far.

Thanks for all of the replies guys! What I’m planning to do is basically verbatim of what resharp said in his reply. I’m gonna get the rancho brackets and try them in the lower caster (2” setting”) with the sport arms to get the best of both worlds. If it ends up just providing way too much caster I will just ditch the front lower sport arms, sell them to recoup some costs, and install the stock front lowers with the brackets. I guess at this point I’m just looking to see if there’s anyone out there that’s run the sport arms with the brackets together. That way I’d have an idea heading into it.

thanks guys!!
