Adjustable control arm settings??
hello everyone. Newbie with lots of questions here! I own a 2007 unlimited X JK wrangler. I installed a 3" Teraflex coil kit. Bilstein 5100 shocks. and Teraflex HD Forged adjustable Trac Bar in Front. The Truck was handling great , until I was on the Freeway and hit a transition in the road. I almost lost control. I am not 100% sure, but I would call this death wobble( It does this consistently anytime over 50mph and a bump or transition is hit) The steering wheel was all over and you could just feel the tires going back and forth. The only way to get it to stop and regain control is to slow down to about 45 mph. Needless to say It is all my fault. when I lifted the jeep my stock caster was about 4.2 ,now with the 3" lift (actual 4"+) my caster is only at 1.9. I now know I needed adj. control arms to increase my caster to approx 4.5 or so. I have searched High and low on the internet and could not find a real in-depth write up on control arm installation. specifically what angles or measurements I should be setting my new control arms to. From what I have read so far the Front Lowers are for adjusting my casting back to an acceptable level. The Rear uppers are going to help me correct pinion angle. What about the Front Uppers and Rear Lowers? What and how do I set these, also what do they adjust ? I Forgot to mention the Adjustable Control arms I purchased are Icon. I also purchased a new kyb steering stabilizer I am going to install once I have my arms all adjusted correctly. Thank you in advance for reading this and any advice is appreciated.
Welcome to JK-Forum. Hate to hear about your problems. Hope this helps...

I have checked and rechecked The Front Trac Bar and it is tight. Also had the alignment shop go over the settings. The only question I did have with the trac bar was possibly the installation. Which end goes where. The local 4x shop sales guy said it was installed right. when I called Teraflex (Great Customer Support) , The tech rep explained that the curved end goes on the axle portion which is how I installed it. I couldn't find any pictures of the Teraflex HD Forged Trac Bar Installed. So Besides Caster. That could be an issue.
I just got back in from the garage Mounts look ok No signs of any cracks. I Forgot to mention also that when I talked to teraflex on the phone the rep did say that He has seen it both ways. some people had no problems with castor or any type of dw. others had problems with driveshafts (stock angle).
I have the same height lift as you (3" tflex), JKS front and rear track bars. I drove it for over a month averaging 75-80 mph, some rough freeways lots of bug bumps and such and no death wobble, I did have flighty steering so I added the front lowers, I screwed up and put them at 22 and 3/4" and not the recommended 23" center to center of the bolt holes and will be rectifying that in the morning. But the main reason that I chimed in is because when I test drove it after the lift I would get DW at above 45MPH and hitting a bump, went back and put it on the lift and the track bar bolt was not tight enough, it is reccomended 125lbs and they mean it, torqued both ends and have drove it like I stole it since and am in no way scared of the DW comming back. Hope this helps. Oh and the other thing I must fix as well is flip the control arms around, I put the gold end towards the axle and it was supposed to go to the frame, no instructions and from the threads there was some confusion, no biggie.

Just finished installing my icon adjustable control links. before caster was 1.9 now I am sitting at approx 4.5+degrees. (home measurement). took it on the freeway and tested it approx 70-80mph and hit the same transitions in the road as before No more wobble. It did do it for a second and stopped on its own in one spot. Scheduled for an alignment tomorrow, I am going to see if they can adjust it to about 6 degrees. I'll test drive it again and if all the wobble is gone, then I'll install the new steering stabilizer(I don't want to hide any alignment issues). Thank you for everyones advice. I'll keep you posted
