Adjustable lower control arms
hey Fellas,
new to your forum & the Jeep world.
(I have used the search button)
The wife purchased a 2016 Jeep JK Sahara, so I decided it need a lift & some new shoes, I added the Rough country 2.5" leveling kit & some 33's
She complained that the Jeeps feels "floaty" I dove a few times & seemed fine but I drove on a 1000 mile trip & it does not handle/corner like stock, I am forever correcting "floaty" may not be the correct term :-)
After a bit of reading (THANXS) it looks like I may need some adjustable lower control arms.
My 1st question (please)
Do you guys replace the LCA's after doing a small lift??
2nd part
what is a good brand LCA?
appreciate you guidance
Colin

If you haven't found them yet, there are two threads with a ton of info stuck right to the top of this Modified area. FAQ's, and Thoughts On Lifts.
For caster correction, you have several options. Cam bolts, Drop brackets, Fixed control arms, Adjustable control arms. They will all rotate the housing and raise the caster. There is a wide range of pricing, and varying opinions on each, but basically, not many people like cam bolts, a lot of the less hard core daily-driver types like the brackets, and the flex-in-the-rocks crowd prefers adj arms over brackets that hang down. But again, any of them will do the job.
If you choose arms, either uppers or lowers will work. Uppers will be shorter than stock to raise caster. Lowers will be longer than stock to raise caster. Front lowers are generally considered to be the better choice.
For which mfg's arms to buy, do some reading on the various types of joints available. I like the newer no maintenance joints from Metalcloak and Synergy (maybe RK has them also?), since I am slowly trying to move away from the thousand and one zerks that need to be greased. -- But since I am running metalcloak, I will endorse them as the best of the best...

Thanxs for the info, really appreciate it.
I dont like to buy junk as I end up doing the job twice, the wife uses as a daily driver and wont be beating on it (not yet anyways)
I looked at the Rancho brackets (Amazon) & they look to be well built, I will give them a shot.
thanxs again
Colin
