Adjusting Adjustable Track Bars
How should you adjust an adjustable track bar? I would assume that the factory track bar has little to no tension on it while on level ground at stock height? After I put on a 2" OME do I just adjust the new "adjustable" track bar so there is no tension? Or will I need to measure and set accordingly? I know that in order to get the original track bar back in place on a lifted JK you will need to literally shift the axle in order to reinstall the factory track bar. With the new adjustable do you just set the length so there is no tension or need to shift the axle back?
Thanks

What you need to do to start off is this.
Lay the stock track bar and the aftermarket one side by side. In your case I'd start by adjusting the aftermarket bar to be about 1/4" longer than your stock one. Install the new track bar and tighten everything to spec. Then measure from your frame to the outside of your tire on both sides. Compare the measurements. If they are within an 1/8" or so I'd leave it alone. If not, take the track bar loose and adjust it in or out 1/2 the distance you were off by. Reinstall and measure again.

Whatever happened to just taking the old one off, jumping on the front bumper a few times, and then bolting down the adj. track bar accordingly? That's how I did my TJ, and thats how I did my JK too.
