Default Adjusting Front Lower Control Arms

So I got a set of BDS front lower adjustable control arms with flex ends and put them on two weeks ago. I also have a 3" BDS lift on for over a year. The ride was very good but I wanted to improve the slight "flightiness." I used the Cam bolts for the lift since I didn't have a way to adjust caster at the time. I am going to weld thick washers and ditch the Cams.
I've gotta say that I'm happy with how easy it is to adjust and install the control arms with no lift and all fours on the ground. I just used a Come-Along to pull the axle either forward or backward.
Also, I did not have an angle finder (will check caster angle soon) so I found two good points to measure from: With tape measure check distance from front spring perch bracket welded on front axle to the lower control arm bracket welded on chasis. So far my ride seems much better. Does this seem a proper way to do it, as long as my measurements were equal?
Thanks, Mike
