Advice
Ok so I've been posting a lot of questions on here but this might be my best. I just got my $$$ together and am ready to throw my kit together. I just found a guy who had a 2009 rubicon that he is piecing out. Says he is a hit rodder and nit really into the jeep thing.
I'm jumping all over his tires and rims. 37x12.50x17 Cooper stt's with mt classic 2 wheels for $1400.
Here is the question... He said he would give me his 6" RC X series lift, skid plates and a front and rear after mkt drive shafts for $1000. He's been through the mud on more than 1 occasion but says everything is in great shape. Im going to look at everything in the morning. All I have to do is pull everything off of his and throw it on mine.

Sounds like a good deal.
What we do with our rigs really is hot rodding. I have talked with mechanics and that is what they call all of our performance mods - we are just not going for speed. We really do major modifcations when you think about it.
Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Sounds like a good deal for such a complete "kit", but personally, I would look for a different brand, regardless of the deal. Not dissing on RC, but 6" is a lot of lift, and I would want a top quality lift for that height.
Make sure you look it over well. Check all the welds, bushings, and joints to make sure there is no cracking or damage. I would also just kind of check out his stuff and size him up a little. If his car/jeep, garage, yard, etc. look unmaintained and disorganized, maybe he isn't the type to keep his lift maintained or tuned correctly either. That would not be the person I would buy used gear from.
Also, are you keeping your stock parts, or putting your stock parts on his Jeep?

Price seems right if that's what you want. 6" is a lot of lift for 37" tires. Of course, claimed height and ride height may be different. Also, any proper 6" lift would alredy include the drag link flip, so be sure you get that as part of your deal. Don't forget the track bar relocation brackets, and possibly a drop pitman arm.
I run dual CV drivelines on my JKU, maybe he had those installed with his lift. If so, get them too!
