it all depends on what type of wheeling to do. you will be surprised what a stock jeep can do out of the box. you can go most places by just picking up a set of rubi take off wheels and tires and a small budget boost
Well...like they all said. Depends on what type of trails you want to be ready for. I'd personally add some diff covers, an evap skid, and a oil pan skid. Those are the three areas that most need protected on the jeep from what I've gathered from this forum. Then a 2.5" teraflex budget boost will surprisingly get you almost anywhere. That's what was installed on my jeep when I got it and I do everything on the trail that a jku rubicon with 37's and a 5.5" lift can do. But our trails arnt super intense. Hope this helps.

4"+ complete lift kit
40"+ tires (the biggest you can find)
Dana 60 front and rear axle with lockers
Supercharger or Hemi
Complete body armor both under the JK and sides
A real roll cage
New front and rear bumpers with winches
get all that and you should be ready for anything.
Or do what I did and wheel it stock first...you will be amazed at what the JK can do!

Get a budget boost (read:puck lift) from Daystar...cheapest, you wont need shocks and it'll -almost clear 35's...then cut your flares, get some wheels/tires and go beat on it....
But yeah you should always wheel it stock first. This will give you an idea of what you want/need to do anything you cant do as is

you can see in my signature that i only really have a teraflex leveling kit, cut fenders and 35's and it does awesome, but people are right, it ook it out when it was stock and it did amazing, it surprised me.
I have yet to take my 2010 Mountain out modified, so when it was stock, it did great. A few spots were kind of hairy and I feel like a lift might have made it better, what with a better angle of attack and all, but besides that, it's a JK. It's pretty damn good from the start.
