I'm looking for ideas to make my 08 JK trail ready, so I thought I'd ask the ones who have already don them.
Thanks in advance.

The JK is trail ready right out of the box. Just put some gas in it.

Well... Trail Ready is all relative to what type of trail you're looking tackle.

What type of trails/terrain are you interested in?

it all depends on what type of wheeling to do. you will be surprised what a stock jeep can do out of the box. you can go most places by just picking up a set of rubi take off wheels and tires and a small budget boost

Well...like they all said. Depends on what type of trails you want to be ready for. I'd personally add some diff covers, an evap skid, and a oil pan skid. Those are the three areas that most need protected on the jeep from what I've gathered from this forum. Then a 2.5" teraflex budget boost will surprisingly get you almost anywhere. That's what was installed on my jeep when I got it and I do everything on the trail that a jku rubicon with 37's and a 5.5" lift can do. But our trails arnt super intense. Hope this helps.

You have the XD Addicts? How are you liking those? How much did you pay for them? I am considering getting them for my black 2 door, 17x9, with 35x12.50 Goodyear Wrangler MT R kevlars.

get all that and you should be ready for anything.

Or do what I did and wheel it stock first...you will be amazed at what the JK can do!

Get a budget boost (read:puck lift) from Daystar...cheapest, you wont need shocks and it'll -almost clear 35's...then cut your flares, get some wheels/tires and go beat on it....

But yeah you should always wheel it stock first. This will give you an idea of what you want/need to do anything you cant do as is

I have yet to take my 2010 Mountain out modified, so when it was stock, it did great. A few spots were kind of hairy and I feel like a lift might have made it better, what with a better angle of attack and all, but besides that, it's a JK. It's pretty damn good from the start.
