Default Advice with lug nuts please!

Hi guys,

I'm looking to upgrade the standard lug nuts on my 2011 Jk 2DR wrangler. I've had some issues with them and want to get a great set that are durable and reliable.

What are the best ones to get to fit the standard 17inch wheels. Brand and type, Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks!

I like the Gorilla spline drive lug nuts. They are a solid 1 piece lug nut that won't come apart like the OEM nuts do. They come with a key which offers some protection against would be wheel thieves.

Thanks for the reply! So what specs are the lugs in relation to fitting the standard 17" JK wheel.

Do these lugs lock down pretty well and stay tight compared to other lugs? The standard ones seem to come loose

1/2" - 20 RH threads with a 60 degree conical seat.

Yes they hold tight but like all of them you need to check periodically.

After my new tires and rims, I went with a complete set of Gorilla's + 3 for the spare. A small price to pay for extra piece of mind.

I'm liking my Gorillas too. Had them for a year and they are holding up well too a few rotations and random Jeep work removal.

X2 these are great. As mentioned, retorque them periodically. I also suggest using a torque wrench to tighten to spec. Most guys I know severely over-tighten. I recall how surprised I was the first time I actually used a torque wrench on lug nuts. "That's all it takes? No wonder I've mangled so many."

this was one thing my dad taught that needed some improvement, but he never had the luxury of such tools.
