Default Advice on Nitto Trail Grapplers

I am looking to upgrade tires and have decided on going with Nitto Trail Grapplers. I have a 2012 JKU Sahara, auto and 3.21, with a Teraflex Leveling Kit, Spidertrax, and 18/59 shocks. I like the thoughts of the 295/70/18 (34) tire, but I do not want to regear the vehicle. Would re-gearing be required? I do not want a completely "full" wheel well either. Would I be better off going with the 275/70/18? Any advice appreciated.......

you should be fine at that size as it's more of a big 33 than anything. you will loose some power but, on a 2012, it shouldn't be too bad.

weve got the 34" trail grapps on our stock jk. its not functional as far as offroading, but works as a dd. with the 2011 we have im for sure going to regear. we have 3:73s and i hate it...of course the 3.8l is a bigger turd then the 3.6.

I agree. Also grab a Procal to correct speedo and shiftpoints, which will make it more liveable

I agree with correcting the speedo, for correct shifting points, and also with being ok, since it's a 2012, with 80 or so extra horses under the hood.

Why not get 285/70/17 in the trail grapplers. I have them with 17/58 springs and think there great. Plus there cheaper than the 295/70/17 only a half inch smaller.

I am sticking with the stock 18" Sahara rims just because I like their look. The 18's go from 275 to 295

I have the 295s on stock rims (295/70/17). I haven't done hardcore offroading yet so can't speak to that but have done a number of mud holes and snowy dirt roads. LOVE the tires.

I got 295/70/17 on my 12JKUsport and i also have the teraflex leveling kit and had the spidertrax 1.5'' wheel spacers and i took them of over the weekend i felt they were sticking out too far, the ride was very bumpy and, a LOT of dirt kick up just in the street my whole truck would be covered in street dirt. now that i took them off it feels like its almost back to the factory ride. i guess it depends on your backspacing tho my wheel has a 4.5'' backspacing so thats something u just might want to consider before the install.
