Default Advice requested regarding Wheel/Tire setup

To start things off...I currently have a 2" AEV Spacer lift on my Jeep.

I currently have some 315/70/16 Good Year Duratracs waiting to be put on Eagle Alloy 16x8's whenever they manage to get here. (Just called the shop. Supposed to be here today...yet apparently havent even left the factory). Now heres the dilemna...I think I may be getting in over my head a bit. I'm already dropping 2k on 5 wheels/tires. By the sound of it, I'm going to run into issues with clearance and what not. Basically...money will be spent to get this thing right afterwards. My original plan was to get them on...and see what needs to be done. Not the most cautious route to take, but I drive only a few miles to work on flat pavement.

So with another added chunk of time to consider this...I'm starting to think about going down to the 285/70/17's. (33" if I'm not mistaken) I see a lot regarding putting 33" tires on stock wheels without a lift...but would the lift negate the need for the spacers I would like to avoid. Reason being is this is my daily driver as well as the family vehicle for outings on the weekends, etc. If I choose to do this....I would like to keep the stock wheels to conserve money. I'm receiving mixed reports though. I've found some stickies referencing rubbing issues but they generally dont go into detail. I guess what I'm confused on is what exactly is it rubbing on that makes using stock wheels so hard?

So what do y'all think? Should I say screw it and put 35"s on a jeep with 2k miles on the clock and just address things as needed or go the safe route and do 33"s on stock wheels?

Thank y'all much.

I'm in the same boat as you. 2" AEV spacers every thing else stock. The more I research the more confused I get. I believe the main issue after a lift with 33" on stock wheels is not clearance but rubbing on the swaybar at full lock (width issues due to wheel back spacing). There is someone at my work with BFG KM2's 285/70r17 on bone stock, haven't found out who it is to see how they ride (fit).

Frustrating is putting it mildly for me, so I decided to get 35" with wheels and gears and hope for the best from there.
Good luck to you man.
