Advise on AEV calibration tool
Just mounted Nitto 285 x 65 x 18 Trail Grappler on XD Hoss 18 x9's. I am confused on how to set up tire size using AEV. Manufacturer states tire height @ 32.82 inches. I measured tires on vehicle at 31.5 inches. I used that measurement for the speedometer/transmission shift point. Can I get input if I've performed correctly???
Manufacturer's diameter rarely is accurate. Measuring it yourself is the way to go.
An easy way to get the number the computer wants is this:
Put a piece of chalk in the tread.
Roll the Jeep forward until there are two chalk marks on the pavement.
Measure the distance between the marks, then divide by 3.1416.
This method represents what the computer sees as one revolution of the tire.
