Default AEM Brute force install now engine check light on

Hey all

well did the AEM (sounds awesome!) and got an engine check light.

Was the P0113 which is related to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.

In anycase, i d/c the black lead to the battery to clear it and when i went to start up again i have the engine check on again! This time, no code comes up when i do the 3 key turn trick but the light persists.

Now i have been told it can take a day orso to clear a check engine light, is this true?

Should i just take it back to the dealership to check it out?

At this point i am off today, tomorrow and wed but then not again for over 12 days.

Ideas?

How did you remove the sensor from the stock intake? They're pretty delicate..

Go to Autozone and have them clear the code with a scan tool. Once its cleared if it comes back its possible it was damaged during install.

It took me about an hour to remove mine. I used a screwdriver to help. Look at the intake write up on project-jk.com.

be CAREFUL though!

By any chance did you disconnect the negative battery terminal when you were doing the swap? You need to do this so the computer will reset itself with the change in airflow from the intake.

I attached my procal and cleared the DTRs.

Engine light went off!

The new muffler and AEM BF are just FRIKIN AWESOME. I noticed an immediate power difference low end.. Love it! Love the new sound!
