AEV 3.5" Dualsport SC Install Thoughts..
Thinking about tackling this install myself (2011 Rubicon JKU), but very inexperienced with this type of mod. My brother is going to help & has the other equipment needed that I don't have. Just looking for thoughts or suggestions (
help if your local). Was it harder/easier than expected & if you had to do it over again would you? I'm very excited to finally be at this mod, but apprehensive none the less. Thanks!

You should be able to handle this yourself if you take your time and follow the the instructions. If you have air tools that would help. Since it is a bolt on lift it should be straight forward even if you have never installed a lift before and if you need help there are a ton of people on this forum with first hand knowledge on this lift. Good luck and post up some pics when done.
Simple install..
Plan to do it in a weekend and have an extra bolt for the upper passenger side control arm. Mine wouldn't come out all the way and had to cut it off.
Also if you are doing the high steer buy a new drill bit. I did and it was like cutting butter and so nice.
Also organize all your bolts / nuts before you start. I cross threaded a nut thinking it was the right one. There ends up being a lot of bolts to keep organized.
Remove the front air dam if you still have it (makes for much more room)
I did it in four half days due to bad weather.
Day 1. Removed all the front hardware (had to cut off the front upper shocks because of rust) and drill the needed holes. About 5 hours because of rust and just taking my time.
Day 2. Installed all the front hardware and high steer kit. About 3 hours (very rainy day)
Day 3. Removed and installed rear. 3 hours of easy work. There is one hole required for the rear bracket. The rear shocks come off much better than on previous Jeep Models. About 3 hours
Day 4. Toque and install front control arm brackets. This took about 8 hours.. I ran into problems with cross threading bolts, needing to cut off a bolt, etc.. should only take 2 hours.
