This is actually one of my top choices for lifts right now... but it fits my build.

I need to do a little more research on this cam bolt issue.

If you don't like the cam bolts, just buy a set of adjustable LCAs and use them instead of the supplied cam bolts to adjust the Caster angle. There a number of manufacturers that offer quality adjustable CAs to fit your needs and budget.

The AEV premium kit is OUTSTANDING!

Mine (AEV 3.5" Premium lift) went on this Monday.
I did add Clayton Front Lower control arms.
+35" tires on AEV Pintlers.

Feedback :

On-road - streets and highways : Improved ride quality . I went over exact same bumps to get a like for like comparison. Now how much of that is the lift kit vs. more rubber on 35" tires ? Can't say. 2 variables and hence not exactly scientific. That being said, in 1 week of driving (all on-road street + highway), i haven't noticed any bad behavior (wander, wobble, etc).

Off-road : No data yet. Looking forward to it.

One of our club members has a Nth Degree kit from AEV and he said for the money he spent on the kit he would not buy another kit from them again.. He took his Jeep to AEV's shop and the worked on it and he still does not like the way it rides or wheels. This is not his first Jeep, he has 6 Jeeps under his belt so far. He basically said "Just because it's the most expensive one does NOT mean its the best one to buy."

The AEV premium lift is not the most expensive by far. Are you sure he was referring to AEV? Also, was the AEV lift on a JK or one of his other jeeps?

If he has no added weight above stock (bumpers, tire carrier, large tire, winch, etc) on the front and rear, the suspension is a bit oversprung because it was
designed to have a couple hundred pounds on each end. This makes the ride a little choppy and the lift closer to 5", but the handling is still outstanding for a
truck with that much lift. The coils are progressive so they need that 1" of preload to be in the sweet spot of the design. Other than that, not including the price, I
can't see what anyone would complain about so strongly.

There may be other short arm kits that are as good, but I seriously doubt that any of the kits in this lift or price range are *vastly* superior.

I am planning on going with 3.5 AEV Premium lift and 35s. Do I need to buy adjustable lower control arms for both front and rear? What about upper ones?

Thank you very much for your response in advance.

I would highly advise it. I have the 4.5" lift and I had to get my cambolts welded to the brackets because they started failing....common problem with the design if you use cambolts. They now sell a braket with the lift that lowers your LCA's so you don't have to use cam bolts. I wouldn't buy the bracket though because it exposes the brackedt to rocks if you plan on doing that type of wheeling. I would definitely buy the adjustable LCA's. I plan to just haven't cuz of funds. I eventually want to get the uppers as well...just not now cuz there's no need to. Just my two cents. Feel free to PM me if you want and I can tell you more about the lift. Or you can search the threads on here. There's a lot of discussion on the AEV/Nth degree both good and bad.. Love the lift by the way, its great.

If you're dead set on this lift, I'd talk to others that have it installed so you get opinions based on the lift...not just their opinions.

Good luck with the build!

do those new brackets get rid of the need for a new front drive shaft as well? that would be sweet to save some money on new drive shafts; especially after forking out all that cash on a new rubi!
