Has any one cut off the crush cans on the front of the AEV premium bumper and put on D ring shackle mounts???? If so I would like to see PICS.

Yep, I just thought it would be something different. I did see a AEV mil spec with d ring mounts a while back. I was just wondering if the mounts would cover the crush can holes.

The AEV premium front bumper listed on quadratec's website doesn't seem to be the same? Was there a new model released? Look at the mesh material, its different.

Side note: Anyone know if this "new" aev bumper has the d-ring tabs? I couldn't find any info on this anywhere.

AEV's less expensive milspec bumper does not use crush cans. Rather there are four flush bolts in that spot. The pic of that bumper on northridges web site shows d ring mounts attached at those bolts but I haven't been able to find them listed as an available accessory anywhere.

Some time ago, AEV made a few small design changes to the front bumper and install instructions. The pic above does have the mounts for the d-rings. They are located below the crush cans. During the install, they mount first to the frame rails.

I think that is a pic of the J8 which comes with tow hooks on the front and rear. I would call AEV directly and speak with Mike Reckling. He's in charge of part sales and should be able to answer your questions.
