Ok I have a ? for a person with an aev hood. I am trying to figure out if a aev hood would work with my volant snorkel. Is the aev hood the same basic hood except for that center part? And whats the dimention to the center part? check pics.

 

Dude sorry this is not on topic but is that your JK and if so where did you get those headlights? I saw them on another JK on the Web and want to know where to buy.

Yea its mine they went in friday there from screamin lizard customs. There are alot of other places to get them but the screamin ones have the correct harness no relay buzzing ect.

The AEV hood is designed especially for the AEV snorkel. That is a working vent on the side of the hood where the AEV snorkel connects too. If you are gonna drop the loot for the hood which ends up being over a grand after paint, its not worth it to cut into the hood itself for your existing snorkel. Buy the AEV snorkel which is pre-fabricated to bolt on for $300, you will end up saving time and it looks much better. Your only gonna destroy the esthetics of the hood.

 

I got quite a bit of my parts for my JK from Screamin Lizard (the rest from Northridge) and all I can say is both of them are GREAT to deal with!
I am gonna have to contact Screamin Lizard about those lights perhaps!!!

 

If you can get me installation cutting diagrams for the Volant snorkel, I can tell you what is necessary to make it work.

Yes, the hood may be made for the AEV snorkel.....but all the more reason to match the Volant with it. Its a cool hood, and youll be the only one sporting the two together.

Ive got the AEV hood, and I still cut a 3.5" hole in my sidewall to put in my custom snorkel. By the way everyone...be on the lookout for my new and improved snorkel next week!

 

see crash hears my call. I knew somone would tell me just to get the aev snorkel I was just waiting for that comment. I will measure where the snorkel is on my hood cause the snorkel conforms to the hood and just having the hole will not help at all. lemme get the old measuring stick out.
