Looks like another great idea from AEV. Really helpful for those without a Hi-lift jack or a place to use it. Great idea to integrate it into the cubby.
Even if you have a Hi-Lift you should NEVER use it to change a tire... unless you're out on a trail somewhere and THEN find out your stock jack isn't going to lift your Jeep high enough.

I agree a Hi-lift jack is really a emergency only tool and a scissor or bottle jack is the safest thing to use.

I've got one and we actually had the opportunity to put it to use on the trail in Rausch Creek last weekend. Didn't get any pictures but it did it's job and it did it well. Worth the $50 IMO. When you need it, you'll be happy you have it.

It also holds the key for the spare and an extra socket if needed as well. Last time i was @ www.northridge4x4.com 's shop he had about 10 in stock.
