Default AEV Milspec Bumper Question

I know these bumpers have been talked about plenty of times but one more question to seal the deal before I order: I really like the AEV milspec but I don't like the idea of losing my fogs. Is there any way to use the existing stock fog wiring and mount some low wattage lights on the bumper? Would something around 50w be okay? Any info on the milspec bumper from current owners would be great. Also any places to by this one locally in GA? That shipping charge is killing me!

Not worth the money. The military bumper is missing a lot of the features that make their traditional "premium" bumper great. No fog light mounts, no light brackets, no tow loops included, no winch mount. Nothing. Adding those in itself would be at least $300 to have fab'ed up.

Give Dave at northridge4x4 a call, he includes shipping. AEV will not sell their products for less than their vendors, so at least you'll save some money on shipping.

I agree I have the AEV premium. But if you insist on the MIL spec bumper than any 55w fog lights will work if you wire them into the same wires as your stock fogs.
X2 on calling Dave at northridge. Also it might be worth a call to Quadratec and see if they have any scratch and dent AEV bumpers they get quite a few of them. (They may be out of them after having the show a couple of weeks ago.)

I've just put the cash down on a scratch and dent milspec. I plan on cutting holes in the bumper for the stock foglights.

In regards to the 55w fog lights, I don't believe they will work with the stock wiring. I recently upgraded to the Delta 55w fog lights and I read many posts that advised to change the wiring or you will blow fuses. You can however wire them to still utilize the factory fog light switch.

Found a really cool thread in the show and tell..... can't find it again to give you the link but if you look for it i'm hoping you have better luck.... It shows some one taking their fog lights an reversing them back at their wheels using them like rock lights. you might be able to do the same.

I wouldn't go with the milspec for reasons stated above, but it's up to you. Go check out 4 wheel parts in norcross, great group of guys

Thanks for the info. I ended up going with the RR xhd. Still some great info in this thread. I didn't know 4 wheel parts had the aev.
