For those that have pintler wheels. When you got them balanced did they apply the weights to the inside of the rim or the outside?
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks for the fast response. I went to a place near me and they told me he would have to see the rim before he could say he could put the weights on the inside.
My wheels should arrive tomorrow.
Think I'll try a different place for the mount and balance.
Thanks again!

Inside and 1 of mine wouldn't balance. Just out it on as a spare. Some other members have had problems with balancing

X2, unless you have a bent wheel, which is very unlikely without suffering physical damage.

I use balancing beads. That way when the tire starts to wear or has small chunks taken out on the trail the tire will re-balance it self.
The larger tire the harder to balance. I have 1 out of 5 KM2s that was not able to balance on my Pintlers with standard weights. Needed more beads that 8 oz too.
I also use balancing beads in my 22.5 RV tires. I have to go to a semi-truck tire shop for the tires and they only use the beads. They told me beads are better for the tire balance and all the trucking companies use them. They don't use the old large tire balancer in the shop any more unless a customer insists on it, then they charge them extra for that.
I also use balancing beads on my Goldwing MC. I've been over 120 mph in straight and curved sections in Death Valley with no problems.
Balancing beads ware used in some high end sport cars as well. The costs are coming down and I bet in the future that will be how all tires are balanced.

I would think AEV would replace a wheel that had a manufacturing flaw like out of round. It's worth contacting them and discussing the issue on the phone. At the price of the Pintler I would expect them to be usable and not just a tail gate ornament.
